December 16th – 17th, 2009

December 17, 2009

Oh, the weather outside is frightful!

But the ‘tea’ is so delightful!

And since we’ve no place to go,

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Oh it doesn’t show signs of stopping,

And I’ve bought some corn for popping,

The lights are turned way down low,

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight,

How I’ll hate going out in the storm!

But if you’ll really hold me tight,

All the way home I’ll be warm.

The fire is slowly dying,

And, my dear, we’re still good-bying,

But as long as you love me so,

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

From the Christmas Songs site:

The wonderful Christmas song Let It Snow was created by lyricist Sammy Cahn and the composer Jule Styne in 1945. The words and lyrics of Let It Snow reflect the feeling of warmth and security associated with Christmas and also brings in the more modern customs of popping corn! The song Let It Snow was revived in recent years when used in the Bruce Willis film Die Hard which started with the film’s hero traveling to meet his family at Christmas.

And the lovely, inviting tea set was created by Mary Engelbreit, whose cheerful and colorful designs I just love!  This tea set was a Christmas gift a few years ago.  I will be drinking tea from the little lady tomorrow around 4 pm.  You’re welcome to join us!

This is an exceedingly cute Mary-Pot! And one of my favorite holiday songs! Time for tea — my hands are cold!

What kind of tea, Jeanie? I like English Breakfast the best, but I also love chai, jasmine, and just about any other black tea!

That snow looks wonderful – and how do you get such a golden glow in all of your photos? If that’s the way things actually look, you’re very lucky, indeed.

I’m not a tea person – never have been. Perhaps it’s from growing up when tea meant Lipton’s, period. I see all the kinds now and just never have experimented. Drinking tea always SOUNDS wonderful, though. Maybe that it’s time to give it another try.

Wasn’t it Mary E. who did that wonderful art using the slogan “Life is Just a Chair of Bowlies”? I laughed and laughed when I first saw that years ago. The Santa has the same “feel” as I remember from the other pieces.

The golden glow is natural light – no flash, hold steady and click.

And tea? Tea is a gift from the gods (as well as coffee). I can see we have to get together and explore the wonder together! My favorite is English Breakfast with some milk, or maybe Chai… I really love Jasmine with food from The Big Bowl, or……. so many wonderful things in the world there aren’t enough hours in a day!!

As for Mary E. – she is just so darn cheerful I have to love her attitude.
