December 2nd, 2009 – Day Two

December 2, 2009

I came across this clip on The Word Detective in his sideblog.  The author noted,

“I really like it, but now I can’t get the tune out of my head.”  I said pshaw, I won’t have any such problem.  Huh!  So, viewer beware:  this video is hysterical, but 24 hours later, I am still singing it.  Dang!  and Happy Holidays!

Now a short note on Christmas of the Heart.  After a 47 year career and 46 releases, this is the first holiday release from Dylan.  It is fun, tender, reverent, and goofy, as you noticed in the youtube clip above.  The coolest part of it all: all royalties, forever, will go to  three charities that aid the hungry: Feeding America, the U.K.-based Crisis, and the United Nations’ World Food Programme.  Now how ‘in the spirit’ is that?!

I’ve got to come back to this one after I watch the video. Feeling so stressed and overwhelmed that all I want to do is Christmas spirit and I can’t even get the tree up. Don’t like this panic. So I think Bob is what I’ll need! Thanks!

Oh no… stress and overwhelmed?! Too much work? You definitely need to take an evening to watch a Christmas movie while you trim the tree.

What a wonderful video! I just laughed and laughed – and then I saw Bob Dylan, and laughed some more. I’ve never seen or heard of this one. That’s the beauty of so many people posting so many things – none of us ever could find it all!

Speaking of beauty – I got completely distracted and off track with everything because last Friday we had snow, all day. No accumulation for me, but lots of snow. Most of Houston sat around and stared out the window – or built snowmen, in some neighborhoods! It was an early Christmas for a lot of us.
How wonderful – you had snow! I suppose it is all gone by now, but how beautiful. There has been snow all over Wisconsin, except in Milwaukee, where we got freezing slush. Yuck!! The dogs really hated it, and then the temperature dropped below zero, so now it is one, big skating rink. Never a dull moment with Mother Nature.
